Dear Friend and Lowcountry Resident—

I was, once again, appreciative of your outpouring of support at the polls during June’s Republican primary. An election cannot be won without the dedicated support of diligent volunteers. Thank you to the many people that spent countless valuable hours on the campaign. Your effort is both noticed and greatly appreciated!

It has been my privilege to serve you in county government for the past eight years. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you personally, and you have shared with me your concerns and aspirations for our home.

I am proud of the accomplishments we have made. With your support, I have fought to curb government spending. In fact, Charleston County has had a zero tax increase budget every year I have held office. And by focusing on efficiency, we have not cut services.

The Lowcountry is a great place to live; our natural beauty is admired by the world. It is important we take a balanced approach to preserving the natural beauty while still promoting wise development. To achieve this goal, I drafted and sponsored the Charleston County Greenbelt Bank, an initiative modeled after the state bank. Charleston County’s Greenbelt Bank leverages private contributions to purchase unspoiled and irreplaceable natural lands for generations to come. To date, this creative initiative has garnered widespread support from many diverse groups and has received over $40 million dollars of private money to be used to purchase public “greenspace.” A great “win” for Charleston County!

I have also focused my attention on bringing well-paying jobs to Charleston. While I was Acting Chairman, we announced the single largest private capital investment in Charleston County history: the Vought/Alenia aircraft fabrication facility, bringing Charleston over $560 million and 685 well paying jobs. We also saw the largest single job creation in Charleston County history when we secured Verizon Wireless’s commitment to create over 800 jobs for the people of Charleston in a single year.

Along with my wife, Jenny, and our five children, I am proud to be a part of the Charleston community. I ask for your vote on November 2 so that we can continue to work together to build a bright and promising future for every resident!

Sincerely Yours,

Curtis Bostic
